The hand/fingers are subdivided over several levels (fig. 1):
- Carpometacarpal (CMC) joint.
- Metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint.
- Proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint.
- Distal interphalangeal (DIP) joint.
